In brief
During the night of 4-5 January 2025 police intercepted an Ashok Leyland truck owned by the appellant transport company near Lunawada while it was travelling from Modasa to Vadodara, and found 8,064 bottles of IMFL (about 22,532 litres, valued at Rs. 17,02,656) concealed among edible transport goods worth Rs. 98,66,552. The driver, alone in the vehicle, could produce no pass or permit and said the goods belonged to the appellant; the truck and driver were taken into custody and the liquor counted before panch witnesses.…
