For the foregoing reasons, the appeal is allowed, the order passed by the High Court to the extent of directing the appellant to deposit Rs. 50 lakhs by him is set aside and the G said amount with accrued interest is ordered to be paid to the appellant-writ petitioner of Civil Writ Petition No. 19842of1999.
