What the Court ordered
Before parting with this case we feel that since the respondent while discharging his duties has become invalid to serve anywhere on account of impairment of both of his ears, therefore, in fitness of things, D at least something should be given to him for survival and we direct that a sum of Rupees one lakh be given to him ex gratia.
